Part 2 - Defining our Legacy - Flipbook - Page 13
“
Firstly, legacy is how you are remembered,
and secondly it is about the values you
instil in your children. For me, those values
are kindness, contentedness and curiosity.
Capital legacy is not central. When we talk
about financial legacy, we mean we want
to give our children a good education. We
are very supportive of them, whatever they
want to do in life, and want to see them do
something they are passionate about. That
thing may not be clear at the age of 18, it
might take longer to find, and we will afford
them time, provided they are dedicated and
committed. We will provide a roof over their
heads, and they will have to find their own
way.
I believe the next generation should shape
their own legacy. My role is to instil the right
values, in the hope that those values become
core to who they are in the future. In time I
hope they will understand why those values
are important to their parents, and in turn
they will decide to pass them down to their
own children, and others they come into
contact with. With the right preparation
and education, wealth is not a burden, it is
an enabler.
